Ubisoft's been getting some bad press over its recently established DRM issues. Splinter Cell Conviction is also heading for the PC, but the game has been delayed. Does it have anything to do with the Ubisoft Launcher?"The reason that has been given for the delay is that the extra time was need to polish and debug the game," a spokesperson told
Eurogamer today. "The slip has not been linked to the DRM."
The delay means that the PC version of
Splinter Cell Conviction will release two weeks after its Xbox 360 counterpart.
Ubisoft's
first titles to come with the controversial DRM - which forces players to be connected to an Internet provider throughout the duration of gameplay - were
Assassin's Creed II and
Silent Hunter 5. Hackers have
tried to compromise the system, and the publisher's servers have been hit with a string of protest attacks.
