High Voltage Software hasn't been fazed by the less-than-stellar sales of its sci-fi shooter The Conduit, as a recent issue of Nintendo Power confirms that the studio is hard at work on a sequel. The original title hit the Wii last year, and was promoted as a high-profile attempt to prove that core games had a place on Nintendo's console. For the sequel, High Voltage intends to simply expand on what they already achieved, calling the 'core experience' very solid.
Bounty Hunter mode will make a return, but no other online modes and features were discussed in detail.
The Conduit 2 will be set in Atlantis, and have a mixture of old and new weapons. One such inclusion will be the Vortex Cannon, intended to shake up online competition.
An emphasis will be placed on character customisation, with each player having one primary slot and two secondary slots for upgrades that also change appearance. For instance, equipping robotic legs will enable you to run faster. Split-screen multiplayer will feature 2-4 players, and a new co-operative Invasion mode allows up to four players (split-screen or online) to tackle specific challenges.
