Ubisoft Offers Free Games For Server Downtime
Ubisoft's not been having a good time of it lately, with its DRM system the centre of a long period of downtime at the company's servers. As a result, legitimate owners of Assassin's Creed II and Silent Hunter 5 haven't been able to play their games. Ubisoft issued an apology to those affected in the form of free game downloads.

Players on Kotaku have been receiving emails from the publisher that offers compensation by offering one of four free downloads - the choices are Prince of Persia, Heroes Over Europe, H.A.W.X. and Endwar.

Downloading these complimentary games go straight to your PC hard drive and are free to play without any of Ubisoft's DRM shenanigans.

We're sure the last thing disgruntled PC gamers want to do in this situation is play an old game in lieu of their brand new one, but it's the thought that counts, right?
