Upset that Splinter Cell: Conviction is exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC? Well, take solace in the knowledge that future games in the series could see release on other platforms, according to Ubisoft Montreal's Max Beland.Speaking with
Edge, Beland was asked if Sam Fisher was going to sneak his way onto the PlayStation 3 in the future. His response - "I don’t see why it wouldn’t."
"I’m not involved in the business deals. I joined
Splinter Cell after the exclusivity deal with Microsoft had already been signed, but there’s no reason why
Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3.
Conviction? No because of the exclusivity deal. I know people keep talking about maybe, maybe not, [but] at Ubisoft Montreal I haven’t seen anyone working on PS3 for
Conviction."
Looks like those waiting on
Conviction coming to PS3 shouldn't hold their breath. Beland also spoke of the long development time the latest
Splinter Cell endured, and mentioned that due to Ubisoft's goals of releasing a core game every 12-18 months, we shouldn't be waiting several years to see the next instalment.
