At last the games industry has woken up to the fact that the world needs a sumo wrestling game.
Japan Grand Sumowrestling: Chapter of Grapple has been announced by Konami for PlayStation 2. This must surely come as great news to fans of such sports. All we need now is a kabadi game!
The game’s developers have also won the official recognition of the Japan Sumo Wrestling Association, meaning that all your favorite sumo dudes from the real Japanese championships will be available to play. Ahem.
We like fighting games and any addition to or innovation of the genre is always welcome. We are a little puzzled by one thing, perhaps you might be able to help us out.
In all the sumo matches we have seen (which, you may be assured, is a lot) there has only been two outcomes. Either one guy falls out of the ring or just falls over. We cannot at this stage, determine how the game will play, nor what the control method is likely to consist of. We are just happy.
