Aliens vs Predator Demo Hiccups on PC, PS3
Fixed the PC version's problems relatively quickly, though.
Hands up who downloaded the Aliens vs Predator demo on your PC when it was released yesterday? Yeah, loads of you. That's the reason why you might have been having problems joining and finding games online, as Rebellion cited “unprecedented demand” as the cause for the server issues.
Fear not though, for the studio has been working hard to patch things up. Speaking via a post on the Sega forums (through community rep 'CaptainHaddock'), it announced that later in the day the issue was corrected for the PC version by way of a Steam patch.
“While this issue did not affect the Xbox 360, we are with SEGA's assistance investigating reports of a similar nature on the PlayStation 3 and working flat out on a solution,” reads the statement.
“The full game features the ability to browse for and create games, but for the purposes of simplicity the demo was limited to matchmaking, alongside the ability to set up groups with friends which mitigated yesterday's issues for many.”
No time frame was given for a PS3 fix, but at least they're addressing it so soon after the demo's release.

Downloaded on Steam yesterday after checking for it on PSN, played a couple of games on the PC version and it was ok, just laggy. I tried the PS3 version once it was added on PSN and that looked great, little to no lag at all but takes a lifetime to find any matches to join. I'm still getting this game without a doubt.

got into a game once but after that nothing couldnt find no game, manage to play with a mate then we found another mate to play, but now it wont let us all play !

I just spent hours waiting to download at 80kb/s, steam used to have good speed, all of their servers are slow now,. I Install the game, and it installls direct x and visual,WITH NO OPTION BUT CANCEL and now the game WONT START and gives me a direct x errror box, no code or info.... i am running a fresh install of xp a day old, i HAD dx 9.0, c what do I have now? I dont know - my nvidia control panel is now unreadable.

managed to get on once! was playing as an alien, is there a way to play all 3? I couldnt see an option to choose? seemed pretty good when I did play though

deathmatch wasn't the greatest but when the game comes out there will be other modes such as virus which will play much better.

When your in the pre-game screen, press up on the d-pad to select the image of the species, then press x and it will cycle through the species. If theres already too many off one species then it'll stop you selecting it.
Look in the player list on the right.
Red emblem = Predator
Blue = Marine
Green = Alien.
I prefer alien but it's taking some getting used to, so disorientating!

Having this same problem =(. Managed to play with a ,mate through invites though.
@Harry Lake: I know what you mean, the human brain isn't designed to think in that many directions at once! I keep dropping off ceilings when I think I'm on the floor =P
