Sega confirms two for GameCube at SpaceWorld. Argh! It sounds weird!

Sega prepares for GameCube launch at SpaceWorld

Sega Amusement Vision, the team at Sega charged with looking after the porting of the company’s arcade machines to home consoles, has confirmed that it will be showing two GameCube titles at this year’s SpaceWorld event.

The two games to be shown, Super Monkey Ball and Virtua Striker 3 Version 2002, can be seen between August 25th and 26th at Makuhari Messe in Japan, the venue for this year’s Nintendo-a-thon.

Super Monkey Ball, a game in which the player must free several monkeys trapped in balls on a giant 3D maze-world of doom, has been confirmed for GameCube for some time now. This will be the first look at Virtua Striker 3 for GameCube and we can’t wait.

We do have one complaint though. It sounds weird! A few years back it would have been complete madness to suggest that Sega would, in the not too distant future, be showing games at SpaceWorld. It was the kind of thing that filled out the space on rubbish Internet gossip boards. Now it’s fact.

Sega will also be showing Sonic the Hedgehog for Game Boy Advance as well as Phantasy Star, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe, also for Game Boy Advance.
