And that doesn't even account for PS3 bundle sales.

Final Fantasy XIII Sells Over 1m Copies In 24 Hours
So, how did the launch of Final Fantasy XIII go? Amazingly well as it happens, with Square Enix announcing the game had sold more than one million copies in 24 hours.

The exact figure wasn't revealed, with the company telling Kotaku that sales had “exceeded one million” in what most mortals would call a day. The 1m number doesn't account for sales of the PS3 and FFXIII bundle – labelled the “Lightning Edition” - but if it did, the figures would be slightly higher.

We can't wait to see the impact this has had on sales of the PS3, and how the 'lightning' sales (ho ho) of FFXIII will affect numbers on the rest of the Japanese software chart.

Final Fantasy XIII is to be released in the US and Europe in March 2010. We doubt it will sell nearly as many copies.
