EA's Riccitiello Blurts Out PS3 Motion Controller Name
Electronic Arts' under-pressure CEO, John Riccitiello, may have inadvertently blurted out the name of Sony's PS3 controller - that we thought was called 'Sphere'.

Speaking at the UBS 37th Annual Global Media Conference, JR, said, "In the coming year, both Sony and Microsoft have announced new controllers. Motion sensor controls, Natal and Gem, these are likely to bring new consumers into the marketplace."

Sony's response? "No official name for the PlayStation motion controller has been announced."

And now Electronic Arts has refused to "confirm the accuracy of his remarks at this time" according to IGN.

The thing is, Natal's probably only a working title as well.

John Riccitiello is trying to hold on to his job after betting the farm on the Wii. I think EA holds a 19% share of the Wii.

The Wii is nothing more than a $250 dust collector. It will be joining the Game Cube in console heaven very shortly.

Nintendo's moto on game consoles is Churn & Burn. It's like a 24 month blow-out sale. Then they move on.
