Dreamcast price to fall again?
Following the slashing of the Dreamcast price, we really didn’t expect to see another price drop so soon, if at all, but the Hollywood Reporter has reported that the American price is set to tumble to an incredibly low $79.99. At that price, about £45 sterling, it would be rude not to buy one.

“We believe this will assure a clean sell-through of the Dreamcast video game system, which was an excellent but ill-fated gaming console," said Anton Bruehl, president of the International Development Group, a video game consulting house. "With Dreamcast hardware out of the way, Sega will be able to focus on its multi-platform gaming strategy for console and online games.”

As you will remember, the price cuts in the States and Japan were quickly reflected in Europe, and for some time now, European gamers have enjoyed the Dreamcast at the brilliant price of a little under £100. It is likely that, if these rumours prove to be true, the price here will drop too.

Sega refused to comment today on its future pricing strategy, but with only about 70,000 units left in the world, if you want one, you will have to be quick.

It is also rumoured that Sega will be cutting the price of its software and peripherals, though no details are available at this time.
