Virtua Fighter 4 ready to go

The best looking arcade game ever is gearing up.

Sega of Japan has announced that Virtua Fighter 4 is complete and will go into production this week.

Running on Sega’s latest arcade system, the Naomi 2 board, Virtua Fighter 4 will hit Japanese arcades on the 1st of August this year.

Sega Europe confirmed that it will bring the game to European arcades in Autumn, as the regionalisation process for arcade games is minimal, consisting in most cases of just changing the boot-up sequence warning. Instead of reading “If you are playing this game outside of the country of Japan you are involved in a crime,” to either “Europe” or “America, Canada and Mexico”

Didn’t that used to scare you to death, aged twelve, hanging around in the local taxi rank?

Virtua Fighter 4 will be the best looking arcade game ever released when it ships later in the year, and will come in a delightful dedicated gothic style cabinet.
