Finally! Nintendo has announced that the UK and Eire will be getting the long-awaited black Wii. It's limited edition though.
The UK and Republic of Ireland get it on November 6th, with Europe heading shopwards on 20th November. The bundle will come with a Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus and Nunchuk – all in black – plus Wii Sports Resort game and the original Wii Sports.
We're also told that we're getting a "new black Classic Controller Pro – an enhanced version of the Classic Controller. Additional black Wii Remote controllers, Wii MotionPlus accessories and Nunchuk controllers will also be available to purchase separately across Europe from November 20th onwards."

Maybe someone at SPONG can ask NoE this question, as no-one else I've put it to seems to be bothered about it, so far: are they going to make an easy option for transferring across settings and WiiWare/VC games from an previous Wii, in the same way you were able to do so with the DS?
The black Wii is the version I always wanted, but what am I supposed to do with the 40-or so Wii downloads I have? This is where the Friend code system seriously falls down in comparison with downloads being tied to an ID with password.

I've sold a Wii for the two Christmases but I have to say, I do like the look of this. A nice black Elite, PS3 Slim and Wii would look rather nice.
Now if the 3rd parties could pull their fingers out it might be worth getting. Although the girlfriend now wants one after seeing the Gadget Show's EA Fitness demo.
