Not own them though.

Microsoft's Neil Thompson* has started the bidding war to see which platform holder can sell the most copies of (Call of Duty) Modern Warfare 2.

He tells MCV today,"We firmly believe that with Live services, the quality of the gaming experience on 360, and all the new ways we can get consumers engaged with the IP that Xbox is the best platform to experience this great game. I never use the word ‘own’, but it is ours to make the most of, and that’s what we intend to do. We firmly believe that 360 will be the lead sales platform for Modern Warfare 2."

We await Sony's statement that "competition is healthy and that as long as the consumer benefits then that is the main thing... but PS3 is best" or suchlike.

I have both systems, and honestly I am going to get it for the Ps3. I am not having my 360 blow up on me during a MW2 binge.

Or another way he could have worded it:

"Since the original Xbox was essentially a one game format with Halo, I am delighted that 14 year old American's eager to 'trash talk' you over Live still view the 360 as the place to be when it comes to FPS console gaming and other bland genres that are devoid of originality and creativity. Combining this with the near complete lack of exclusives this Christmas and us paying Activision many millions for some timed-exclusive DLC, we expect MW2 to do quite well on our system. It truly is a testament to our 12-16 month headstart over the other consoles, leading to our substantial hardware lead in our home country of America where FPS games are the most popular genre."

In other news, "Sony thinks the PS3 and Uncharted 2 are quite good", and Nintendo think "Wii Sports Resort is the place to be this Christmas"! Microsoft are the kings of self-promotion and PR bullsh*t! Microsoft bigging up Microsoft is not news - it's free advertising!

I have to agree he's right, as achievements will help make those sales.

That's weird PS3 owner, because there's a lot less s**t talking on Live these days, especially since most FPS games have gone co-op multiplayer, which requires co-operation or death. I honestly can't remember that last time I got verbally abused, by some mouthy kid on Live. Back in he Halo FPS days, when there were less co op games, such crap talk was regular.

Another case of PS3, trying to dilute 360 waters, with old info. That's you, PS3 owner.

well this is a duhh statement.

Most of Xbox360 players are FPS fans. Unlike PS3 fanbase is little more diverse.
