Koelnmesse GmbH, organiser of this year's GamesCom over in Cologne, has released some numbers about the event.
They look like this: "A total of 458 companies from 31 countries took part in gamescom 2009 on a gross floor space of 120,000 square metres. 248 exhibitors and 11 additionally represented companies came from Germany, 199 exhibitors and 2 additionally represented companies from abroad. Including estimates for the last trade fair day, visitor figures came to 17,000 trade visitors and 228,000 end consumers."
Did you catch that? A total of 245,000 visitors. That's compared to 41,000 at E3. That's nearly six times as many at GamesCom. Or what about the total of 447 exhibitors, compared to E3's 216 exhibitors? Makes you think, eh? Makes you think that enabling actual, real life consumers to visit could also attract more industry people and... bottom-feeding journalists of course.
Next year's GamesCom has already been dated - 18th - 22nd August.
