While explaining to journalist
Brad Nicholson that Activision's multi-platform
[Prototype] will sell loads more units (90%) than Sucker Punch's PS3 exclusive
inFamous... except on PS3, Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, EEDAR's director of analyst services Jesse Divinich states that:
"Rockstar is a very intrepid developer; they would do a PS3 exclusive and make it profitable just for the challenge."
That's right, not only will
[Prototype] outsell
inFamous on all platforms except the
only platform that
inFamous is actually on (to quote the piece, "
inFAMOUS is expected to sell between at least 35 to 50 percent more on the PlayStation 3 than Activision’s title.") but Rockstar will create a PS3 exclusive title apparently for gits and shiggles.
We understand this to be true because the analyst takes a punt at how the PS3
Agent exclusive came about, "I do imagine Sony is providing some support on the backend, whether that is financial support or technological support is unknown to the public."
It's got to be said that if we wanted to go to the public rather than get professional, company-based analysis, we'd definitely turn to Matthew Robson (aged 15 years and seven months). We especially love the idea that Rockstar would not only make the game but 'make it profitable' for a challenge.
And we bet that Take-Two's stockholders love that too.
