Sony Computer Entertainment has announced to shareholders that the last quarter of this year will see results that are considerably lower than the previous year.
Sony Corp as a whole has slashed its earning projections by 50% for this year and has attributed the problems to issues surrounding development of PlayStation 2 hardware and software.
The company has also reduced shipping expectations for the console, reducing the figure from 10 million units to 9 million for this year.
Sony also announced that it would be cutting 500 staff at its San Diego production plant.
