You thought that Colin McRae: DiRT 2 was going to ship in September for PC... well not any longer driving fans. Says Codemasters with supreme exercise on looking at the bright side: "With DirectX 11 hardware expected to ship in the second half of 2009, and DirectX 11 coming to home computers with the release of Microsoft Windows 7 on October 22, 2009, Codemasters also announced that the Games For Windows LIVE edition of Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will benefit from an extended development program to take advantage of DirectX 11 and is now scheduled to be published in December 2009."
There's no change to the September releases for the console versions.
Look, we could like start a mass of conspiracy theories about the development team all leaving in a sulk, or Codies being bought by Activision; or the McRae licensing authority removing the rights... to be honest, Codemasters appears to have made a simple admission of fact, so we'll go with that.
We could also observe the unnecessary corporate jargonising that went with the announcement... but we're not going to.
