Shocking news has been posted to a forum recently that indicates that
Killzone 2 developers are not in fact simply staring out of the window and making spitballs. Guerrilla Games is, apparently, working on a new project that the Internet has turned into, even more shockingly, a sequel to the recently released PS3-exclusive
Killzone 2, called...
Killzone 3.
The forum post to
PSU states:
"I am excited about posting this news regardless of it's authenticity."
It then continues, with some gusto:
"I was just talking to
someone closely involved with GG earlier today", the italics are in the posting. That someone explained that, "...from what I gather the key developers of
Killzone 2 are working on a new project."
When asked if that new project could be a sequel to
Killzone's sequel from a studio that makes
Killzone, someone replied: "Ahh, well - I can't say for sure, but it seems very likely", before continuing, "They have a team working on writing up algorithms, and modifying the
Killzone 2 engine, and a select few working on a story."
There was also less exciting mention that "They have a handful of developers working on updates, and patches for
Killzone 2, but I doubt weŽll see co-op patch... The problem is the seamless loading. Cross console synching seems to be an issue..."
Next up, someone close to Nintendo mentions that someone there could be working on another Mario game!
