Yesterday pollster Nielsen had good news for
Sony fans, today it's come up with a smile for those in the Microsoft camp as
Halo: ODST is apparently the most "probable purchase intent" among those people given a good polling at E3.
ODST caught a huge 53% of the voters, while God of War III came in at 49%. Whether this indicates any notion of migration from Xbox 360 to PS3 is, frankly, unlikely. Whether it indicates that more Xbox 360 owners were polled because, well, there are more Xbox 360 owners is another issue.
That said, the Wii managed a 45% vote with
Wii Sports Resort, and Wii ownership is higher than either of the other platforms.
According to Nielsen itself, "The table below shows total positive purchase interest (definitely or probably interested in buying the title) for games that garnered at least 30 percent on this metric and will be released at least a month from now.
"For most of these twelve titles, either a trailer was released or gameplay was demoed in some form at E3. But interestingly, there were not massive spikes in consumer interest in purchasing these titles from pre- to post-E3. Most moved up or down 1-2 percent at most, which is well within the margin of error. In other words, games that already tugged at gamers’ hearts held on."
The Top 10 is below, and below that is the
'% of E3 Buzz' pre-show poll also run by Neilsen, in which no Xbox 360-exclusive even made an appearance, so well done
ODST.
