SEGA of America's president, Simon Jeffrey, is leaving the publisher to head to iPhone game maker Ngmoco.
Jeffrey, a vocal supporter of the iPhone during his time at SEGA, will head up Ngmoco's new publishing arm, Publishing Plus. The newly-formed arm of the company is looking to bring other devs into the fold to give them marketing and strategy guidance, as well as get them using its new "social player network".
"The ecosystem of iPhone gaming is so large and diverse that the successes that Ngmoco has built... we think we can share them with other developers, publishers and IP holders that might want a different way of getting to market with the platform that Ngmoco is building", Jeffrey told
Gamasutra.
Details on the aptly-named 'Plus Network' are thin on the ground, but Jeffrey says Ngmoco will have "a fairly open-door policy" regarding who it works with. Expect something a bit like Xbox Live on your iPhone.
