The Duke may be (way, way) down, but he's not out. In fact,
Duke Nukem is heading to the iPhone.
"We have several more iPhone games on the way, including three unannounced
Duke Nukem games", Scott Miller, co-owner of 3D Realms told
Shacknews.
3D Realms recently ceased development on
Duke Nukem Forever due to funding issues, something that has caused the game's planned publisher,
Take-Two, to pursue legal action. 3DR lashed back and... well,
it all looks a bit messy.
Still, despite the mess and
appearance a few weeks ago of 3DR having closed entirely, the show goes on. As well as the aforementioned iPhone titles, development is still under way on the
Duke Nukem Trilogy series of games for the DS and PSP.
Three games for the iPhone and three games for the PSP/DS certainly sets a little bell ringing in your brain, doesn't it? Still, it's unclear at this point whether the projects are related.
With
Duke Nukem for iPhone in development but not yet announced, we can probably expect to see it around the time they start building your iPhone directly into your brain...
