PS2 Still Leads UK Console Install Base
For once, some really useful UK sales data! GAME, as part of its earnings report for the year ended January 31st, 2009, has revealed the installed bases for the current generation of gaming hardware in the UK as of... January 31st.

The DS, unsurprisingly, heads up the pack. According to the stats, which are a combination of information from Gfk Chart-Track and internal data, 8.8 million units of Nintendo's handheld have been shifted since it was launched in March 2005.

The Wii is behind it, with 4.9 million units sold since it launched in December 2006. The 360 and the PSP, which launched in December and September of 2005 respectively, tie at 3.2 million sales.

You know what that leaves trailing at the back, right? Yeah, the PS3 (with its March 2007 launch) sits at the bottom of the pile with 1.9 million sales.

None of the systems have performed as well, of course, as the PS2. Since it launched in December 2000, 10 million of the blighters have been sold.

I wonder how big macs have been sold since the day they were launched...Maybe we should have a headline about that? Or how many Mars bars have been sold since launch too.

The f**king PS2 has been out for what over 13years? Sheesh.
