After what looked like a reprieve from Bungie's
Halo 3 departure, it would seem once again that the developer's time with the game is coming to an end.
"We'll never say never, but currently Bungie has no plans to make new
Halo 3 content beyond the release of
ODST", a Bungie representative has said.
"We will, however, continue to support the
Halo 3 online experience with regular updates to matchmaking playlists and wield the Banhammer as needed", the rep continued.
Yesterday, SPOnG told you that Bungie producer
Allen Murray had said of Halo 3 content, "We'll probably be working on it for two more years." For a while there it looked like we could forget the earlier comments of Brian Jarrard, community director for Bungie, who had said that
ODST would be the last of Bungie working on
Halo 3 content.
Now it would seem that we should see
ODST as Bungie's last hurrah on
Halo 3. Maybe. Depending on who you believe.
SPOnG would like to suggest that, in order to prevent head spinning-related injuries among the gaming community, Bungie sorts its communications policy out...
In any case, the
Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack is out on general release as of April 9th.
