Japan: Media Create Confirms PlayStation Dominance
Weekly sales belt the competition
Japanese publisher and stats collator, Media Create, has released gaming hardware figures for the week March 2nd to March 8th.
Yesterday we reported Ascii Media Works' figures (see those here), which put Sony's platforms at the top of the console and handheld sales for the week ending March 6th. Media Create's figures confirm the dominance.
Console Sales
PS3 - 39,835
Wii - 16,560
Xbox 360 - 14,994
PS2 PS2 - 4,954
Handheld Sales
PSP - 59,568
DSi - 32,102
DS Lite - 11,240
Apparently the boost to the PS3 is down to Biohazard 5 (Resident Evil 5 to us), which clocked up 319,590 sales. The Ryu ga Gotoku 3 bundle has also done good things for the platform.
