Bale's Rant Won't Help Terminator Salvation Game
Terminator Salvation is set for release as an iPhone game by mobile developer Gameloft. Apparently it's a very different game from the console versions... no, really.

It has also emerged that Gameloft isn't going to be using Christian - I am John Connor - Bale's recent rant to push the game. "I think that would be more trouble than it’s worth", Gameloft's president and CEO, Michel Guillemo responded when asked if there was any chance of leveraging the swear-filled diatribe. Disappointing, we know.

The company says the game will be out on May 22nd, a day after the film's US release. Beyond that, actual gameplay details are a bit thin on the ground, although the one image released so far suggests that it will be a cover-based shooter.

Asked in an MTV Multiplayer interview about the game whether it's related to the Terminator Salvation-based console titles set for release, Guillemot, said, "No, the games are quite different and separate."

Asked what a game like this has to do to stand out in the increasingly crowded iPhone marketplace, Guillemot said, "...we’re banking on the production values of Terminator Salvation and feel pretty confident that it will do well. In terms of price point, we have found that the most people are willing to pay for premium games is $7.99-$9.99. The game will be priced with this in mind." Gameloft had best hope it's game is up to scratch, because it recently emerged that there are now over 6,000 games competing for your iPhone memory.

The Bale rant, while OTT, is just one of a method actor, being distrurbed doing his thing. It was damn funny though. At the end of the day, Bale is still a good actor and Salvation looks good.

All they need to do, is get a decent demo out for it. If anything, the 'no such thing as bad publicity' rule will also play in its favour.

Come on Gameloft, the average joe in the street isn't gonna think of Bale, and not buy your game. Think positive, as it will really hang on if your game is crap or not.
