The development of
Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics (or something with a very similar title) has been confirmed.
While SEGA doesn't seem to be too keen to say anything about the game, Dennis Kim, director of licensing and merchandising for Vancouver 2010, is more than happy to chat about it.
"Last year, 2008, they had a very successful game using
Mario and Sonic at the Beijing Games, as well as a multi-sport simulation type of game", Kim said to Canadian publication
The Province.
"That's what's being discussed and planned for Vancouver. We are feeling optimistic about sales because of the Beijing experience."
Kim didn't have too many details, but he did say, "They want to get a real sense of accuracy, particularly with the landscape and the venues and the look of the Games." Kim didn't know which events will feature in the games.
The game sprung into the realms of
rumour and speculation last month when numerous sources claimed such a title is in development.
