Electronic Arts has confirmed what SPOnG told you last week -
The Sims 3 has been delayed.
EA has, however, given us a fresh date -
as SPOnG said it would. According to the announcement, "The Sims 3 PC will ship to store shelves worldwide starting June 2, 2009." That's a Tuesday - game release day in America - making it likely that the game will be out not too long after over here. An EA rep told SPOnG that the company's UK arm is "Still waiting on a locked UK date, but 100% confirmed first half June."
Other platforms (namely Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch and mobile) will get the game at the nebulous time of "summer 2009".

The Sims 3 has some quite devastating news for the scientific community however. Apparently "the new Traits and Lifetime Wish features which allow players to create Sims with real personalities and destinies."
Real personalities is it? Well, that's buggered the
Turing Test.
