Arsenal fans may well be able to watch instant replays and grab match-related data via their PSPs from the Emirates stadium in the next 18 months. The application will even include live streaming video in case... you're stuck in a queue at the bar or bog and can't see the huge screens at the ground.
This comes eight months after a
similar system was trialled at the (So-called) Champions League Final between Chelsea and Manchester United in Moscow.
Sony Europe's director of retail, transport and venues Eric Siereveld says, "...we think that the next generation of the software that runs it could actually link fans during the game with each other." Never mind sitting next to your mates – you'll be able to talk to them via your PSP!
"What we are trying to do is pump a variety of different entertainment on to those screens to help you arrive earlier and maybe stay later", Ford said.
There's no word on whether the technology will be rolled out to other sporting venues.
