Yesterday we
reported that the v1.04 update to PlayStation Home 'temporarily suspended' voice chat (with no ETA on its return). Well, the update also appears to have 'temporarily' removed the ability of users to see rewards.
Sony has
responded to the missing rewards, stating that, "As it stands, the items error is not affecting any of the items purchased in the mall, nor will it. Items purchased now will not be lost after the fix for the 1.04 update is in place."
This appears to run counter to a few
forum posts that state that furniture has disappeared from clubhouses.
The Sony response via a 'Home Manager' called Locust_Star, continues, "Rewards gained in the past are currently invisible to the user, but are not lost. When this bug is fixed, you WILL get them back.
"However, while this bug exists, there is a chance that a reward you win during this period will not be saved. For example: If someone wins an
Echochrome suit right now, they can select it from their inventory and wear it. However, if they log out and back in it may disapper (sic).
"Remember, this does not affect rewards won prior to the 1.04 update. When the bug is fixed, rewards won after the fix is implemented will also be safe. You can all calm down now."
Saying "Calm down" to users waiting for a fix for a fix is possibly not the best way to go around things. This is especially so given that there is a chance that rewards gained in the interim could disappear. We understand that this is a beta, however, if purchased items are disappearing this indicates a serious problem.
