Warner Brothers, Equity Games and Halcyon Games have got together to make the officially official announcement of
Terminator: Salvation - The Videogame. If you need a clue as to exactly what that is... think about getting someone in to make sure you don't try to leave your house through the oven door on a morning. It's the game of the upcoming new
Terminator film starring Christian Bale.
The game, unsurprisingly, is a third-person shooter. It's being developed by Grin - an inspired move, given that the company is behind Capcom's upcoming
Bionic Commando... Meanwhile, Halcyon Games holds the rights, Equity Games and Evolved Games are co-publishing the title and Warner Brothers is distributing it. That enough companies involved for you?
Players take on the role of John Connor - you know, that guy who's destined to lead the human resistance against the robot revolt. They engage in what's described as "concentrated armed combat against all of the Skynet enemies from the film while encountering new enemies specifically designed for the game." This, if you're not familiar with the film, takes place after the rise of the machines. So, expect robots by the dozen.
While the companies have picked now to announce the game, Halcyon mentioned its
intention to put out a Terminator game way back in November last year.
There's been no official word on platforms as yet, although PS3, Xbox 360 and PC all sound like good bets.
