Football - schmootball. Soccer - schmocker. UK video gamers, it seems, are far more comfortable playing around in mythic universes accompanied by a dog than they are kicking around on a pitch being married to a dog. Yes, Peter Molyneux's Xbox 360 exclusive,
Fable II has kicked
Pro Evolution 2009 off the top of the official UK charts.
We've also got other new entries to the All Formats Chart. Yes, you can tell that it's the lead-up to Xmas because,
unlike last week, with its pathetic two new entries in the Top 10, this week we see four in the forms of:
Fable II,
Far Cry 2,
Dead Space and
Midnight Club: Los Angeles. You've got to admit that - despite what Peter Molyneux
says about Fable II's casual nature, all those NE's are in squarely gamers' games.
Everything else in the Top 10 is basically 'as you are'. Two footy games; two Wii games; one LEGO game and that crazy-mad,
Saints Row 2 (
reviewed here) for the naughty among you.
So, what to look forward to in next week's charts? Hold your horses - not
Gears 2 yet. You've got
Fallout 3,
Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant,
Quantum of Solace and... yes, well...
Manhunt 2.
