Fallout 3 is Dated

Plus: new screens and no pun in headline

Bethesda has put a date to its upcoming dystopian future, post-apocalyptic, "Oh golly the world's all gone wrong" RPG shoot-'em-up, Fallout 3.

October 31st is when we European folk will have the game at our capitalist disposal. Americans will get it a couple of days earlier on October 28th.

In fact, what Bethesda said is, "Fallout 3, will be available on store shelves and online in Europe on October 31, 2008 and in North America on October 28, 2008." You'll note that it isn't specified that the "online" availability isn't specified as PC-only.

However, before we get all in a tizz about it being released via Xbox Live and PSN, conspiracy theorists, let's face facts: it's probably just careless wording. Sony is the only company that has come close to releasing a 'full' console game via download - with Warhawk and GT5 Prologue - but the disc versions of those were not full price thanks to their relative brevity.

Bethesda also dished up a modest handful of new screens for the game. You can see them below. For more on Fallout 3, check out SPOnG's recent preview.
