Microsoft's GTA IV DLC Confirmation
So, after a bunch of what can only be called outright cobblers doing the rounds about Grand Theft Auto IV DownLoadable Content (DLC) for the Xbox 360 being delayed until next year, Microsoft has confirmed something different.

"In autumn there will be news from Liberty City; the first episodes of GTA IV will be available for download exclusively on Xbox LIVE...", says Microsoft. We don't know about you lot, but we reckon autumn starts in September.

Other news to emerge from Microsoft in the lead-up to the Leipzig Games Conference concerns:

Halo Wars the RTS where "the player has complete control of the battlefield". Release dates? Nope, but it will be on show in the former East Germany this week.

Also ready to be seen are:

"Singing party game" Lips to be released in November.

You’re in the Movies - "players are filmed acting out film roles, from a kung-fu fighter to a zombie using the Xbox Live Vision camera" - another November release.

Scene It? Box Office Smash - yes, the next of the movie quizzes. Another November release.

In terms of games for gamers, we've got more on Fable II, Too Human, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise.

And, yes, we do think that the Piñata games are for gamers.

GTA4 lacks imagination or innovation, it's sterile compared to the previous ones, especially Vice City. All looks but no substance, I drive around bored half the time, it lacks charm.

And don't get me started on the online modes, its one of the worse online games around.

Lets hope they release something decent with the DLC not just story crap.

Glad to see I am not the only one blown away by GTA... good enough story missions, but sod all else to do compared to previous games in the series. And the phone calls from your "mates" are one of the most irritating "innovations" the series has ever had.

That game was a massive, massive let-down for me. Technically impressive, but lacking the soul I expected from one of my favourite gaming series. It felt cut-down, possibly so it can fit on the limited space available on the 360's format of choice. So really, Microsoft can take their DLC and shove it up their greedy arseholes.
