The word is out from Capcom on what the Street Fighter surprise it promised for Thursday is. Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors Dreams is set for launch on the PlayStation Network as a PSOne Classic later in the week.
Over on Capcom-Unity, Capcom's Senior Product Marketing Manager on Street Fighter IV (call him Grant, if you like), attempted to appeal to our sense of nostalgia, writing, "Hopefully you guys remember how awesome the Alpha ("Zero" for your die-hards) series was - new art style, animation, gameplay additions (2P vs. M.Bison!) - it truly is one of the best lines in the SF franchise. So get some of your SF fix with this classic!"
Of course, the fact that Street Fighter Alpha is hitting PSN is all well and good, but it does mean that the surprise isn't a PSN beta for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix...
It was promised by Capcom's John Diamonon that an SFsurprise would be dished up on Thursday in a PlayStation Blog post.
SPOnG has contacted Sony for confirmation on whether the game will be available over here, but no comment was immediately available.
You can see a clip of Street Fighter Alpha in action below.
Even SF Alpha 3 would've been disappointing in relation, but at least better than this first one.

no online features make it more disappointing. I remember this being a rumour many moons ago promising online support, once again sony fail to deliver.

It comes to no surprise that there never has or ever will be a suprise for the PS3 ever...Have to laugh at what Capcom did here I love their support for the Xbox 360.

They might be competing with themselves a bit - which one would they recommend I buy, if I only bought one?

You're wrong again - I find it a surprise that you haven't got one, considering you like Sony so much - so there's at least one quite big surprise.

Streetfighter needs to die and stay dead. MortalKombat was always the better game.
