FIFA 09's senior product manager Trevor Uzice has told
MCV that the game will be hitting the back of the shopping bag on October 3rd. That's just in time to see how League Two is shaping up.
According to Uzice, EA is also working with glamour clubs, Chelsea - for which the game maker becomes exclusive rights holder - Arsenal, Pompey, Newcastle and Spurs.
Fortunately, Trev (great name for a soccer-kicking game exec!) also told the august organ, "Just as important to us is our commitment to the Football League and we will be working with all clubs from the Championship, Division 1 and Division 2.”
Sadly, however, there are
no such things as Division 1 or Division 2 any more. They are League 1 and League 2. Now, while that does indicate that Trev is probably 'dropping it old skool', we hope that
FIFA 09 is a little more accurate when it comes out. If not, we could end with the following cover stars:
Tom Finney
Colin Bell
Carlton Palmer
Sir Trevor of Brooking
And no one wants to see Carlton Palmer on a cover.
