Electronic Arts has dished up a trailer for the animated movie tie-in to its upcoming survival horror title,
Dead Space.
The movie - dubbed
Downfall - will, apparently, provide "crucial" background information to the game. The trailer also claims that the film will "redefine animated horror". Toyoo Ashida, director of
Vampire Hunter D, must be urinating in his trousers with a combination of laughter and terror at the prospect of Hollywood's naivety right now.
The movie comes from Film Roman, the company behind
The Simpsons and
King of the Hill. It's part of a bigger push into other media by EA. Yesterday, SPOnG told you that EA has
just signed up with a Hollywood talent agency to better pimp its wares for film and TV production.
This isn't the only cross-media work EA is doing with
Dead Space, either. It already has a
comic series coming out with independent publisher, Image. The Ben Templesmith art shown in the series... that's creepy. The animated feature (going from what we've got below)... not so much. Take a look and see what you think. For more on
Dead Space, check SPOnG's
dedicated game page.
