It looks like Harmonix/MTV Games/Electronic Arts have scored another coup for the
Rock Band series, with a
New York Times report stating that an unreleased Guns N' Roses track will appear in
Rock Band 2.
The track in question is
Shackler’s Revenge from the eternally 'upcoming' album,
Chinese Democracy.
This remains unconfirmed by EA, with
The New York Times claiming it got the information from "people familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity". Since this is coming from
The New York Times, however, SPOnG is considering this one fairly reliable.
Say what you like about Guns N' Roses (in the Forum, if you care to), but if this does turn out to be bona fide, it certainly marks another point to the
Rock Band series in its ongoing battle with
Guitar Hero for musical supremacy.
As for
Chinese Democracy... well, who knows what it means for the album. It has been in production for close to a decade. The album is expected in Autumn, but no official date has been confirmed. Given how long Guns fans have been waiting for it already, who can say...

Harmonix, MTV Networks and their parent company, Viacom, all came under legal fire from Konami last week as the Japanese publisher
launched a lawsuit for patent infringements relating to
Rock Band.
