Remember Buffy? Go on, you do. That lass who hung around with the Prime Minister from Little Britain? Anyway... poor old Buffy can't seem to catch a break. She closed the Hellmouth, she got a whole army of slayers working for her, but she still has to go back to Sunnydale in a new DS game coming courtesy of 505 Games. The name? That would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Sacrifice.
The new title is set after the close of season seven and is penned by Rob Deshotel, a writer from the TV series. Expect appearances from all your favourites such as Angel, Spike, the Scooby Gang, Caleb, the First Evil and The Master... OK, we're not sure if the last few should be counted among your favourites, but they're in there. Trying to kill you and stuff.
505 Games describes the title as "survival horror", although Beast, the developer, could probably have got away with an RTS with all the Slayers left running around after the last series.
With Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 having taken the form of a comic and providing 'canonical' stories, there's no word on whether the game will fit into that continuity.
Why? Why isn't Joss spending his time more productively on some more Fire Fly?
