Resident Evil 5 - Microsoft Approach Answer 'Not Relevant'
Thank you Capcom. Thank you for employing Christian Svensson as your Corporate Officer and Vice-president of Strategic Planning & Business Development. Thank you Christian for having apparently missed out on the brainwashing corporate sessions that usually lead to people in your position having to give answers such as the following:

"We do not comment on rumour and speculation" to questions such as "Would you like a tea or a coffee?".

You see, in response to Capcom forum members demanding to know why Resident Evil 5 is only going to be exclusive to the Xbox 360, Christian responded:

"The assertion is false. RE5 is a multiplatform release that fits with our oft-stated crossplatform strategy."

He said what? No... he can't have. Well, yes he did, and he followed up with:

"For the avoidance of doubt... simultaneous release."

But, we bet when he was asked something like, "So no word if Microsoft has made an offer to Capcom Japan recently or any time for that matter? This is a very key part of the story."

He refused to reply. Nope, he said:

"Sorry guys, but an answer to this is not relevant."

Okay, so we think it's relevant if Microsoft did ever offer to pay for an exclusive. The whole area of platform exclusivity is becoming more and more important to platform holders - and apparently less so to publishers. However, we're still awarding Christian a big 'Will Respond to Rumour and Speculation' prize.

Didn't see the point of trying to get it to be 360 exclusive, as its likely achievement point and Live will still have 360 cuts trumping PS3s sales. Will the PS3 trophy additions arrive in time for RE5, to swing things back in Sony's favour.

MS, just be content, plenty of other 360 games on the way, that PS3 is missing.

You should go back to munching on cocks Joji, rather than get involved here. By the time Resi 5 arrives, 360 will most likely be dead anyway. What with the increasing popularity of PS3, unreliability of 360 consoles, and the beauty of having the Blu-Ray format to play with, PS3 Resi 5 will be another PlayStation Resi to be proud of.. as 1-4 were before it. Your arse is flapping and there's wind coming out, but the noises you're making just don't make any sense.

MS, start panicking, every day more of your customers are getting pissed off with RRoD... my 360 fanboy mate just got his first this week and is another one eyeing up PS3... particularly as Metal Gear is now out. You've nothing that can come close to the genius. Yup, time to panic. Plenty 360 games on the way, sure... but nothing special. Tick-tock, tick-tock, the Grim Reaper approaches...

Is that fanboy-ish enough for you, SPoNG?

That was pretty fanboyish Bentley. Having suffered the RRoD, i can tell you how annoying it is, my Xbox is currently on its way to Germany to get 'repaired' so i am consoleless and that sucks. What doesn't suck though it the games Microsoft has released, the Live environment and the following they have in the US. They are quite the Patriots over there, so i can't honestly see PS3 making up the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 was selling purely on the BluRay, because at the moment Resistance, Motorstorm et al aren't inspiring in the way PGR4 and Gears and Halo are (i personally didn't think much of Gears but lots of others did). Even Metal Gear 4 isn't performing like Metal Gear 2 did, or getting the scores that was hoped of it. I am glad at a cross platform release. I like to play all the great games, and that means buying different consoles if they are exclusive, so good on Capcom.
