Well now, if you're a PlayStation 3 owner who goes all weak at the knees at the mention of the words 'Metal','Gear' and 'Solid' or 'Hideo' and 'Kojima' then you're feeling pretty, pretty smug right now. Not only are you probably taking a break from playing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots but you're also basking in the knowledge that you own the UK's best-selling full-priced title in the last week.
Yes, despite being a single-format title, MGS 4 has gone straight in at Number 1 in the Chart Track (copyright ELSPA of course) chart knocking LEGO Indy down a peg. Lurking below them both is GTA IV which is still being consumed. It also - despite MGS 4's placing - remains that best-selling PS3 game yet to hit the shelves. Kojima's stealthily solid title is the platform's second best seller (although it beats Grand Turismo 5: Prologue.
In terms of new entries - it's good to see Sid Meier returning to the charts with Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (another Take 2 publication) and for many the site of stocks of Wii Fit on the shelves could be enough to make up for the lack of petrol in the pumps.
Activision has also got to be quite pleased with Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock apparently beating the threat of Rock Band and holding its Number 9 spot, with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare returning to the Top 10 to round things off.
