Google's Android platform for mobile applications was demonstrated running on a mobile phone this week. Cutting edge wasn't in it as
Pac-Man hove into view to show off the Android capabilities. The demo device was also apparently made to look as iPhone-like as possible.
Regarding the 'iPhone killer' tag, however, Vic Gundotra, Google engineering vice president pointed out, nicely, "I wouldn't say that at all. I think the iPhone is just a world-class device with a great web browser that delivers in many respects on one of Google's key goals: To bring the web to the mobile device. "We wish every mobile phone was as good as the iPhone."
As for using Pac-Man to show off Android, we don't think Apple has much to fear with
Super Monkey Ball and Spore in the offing for that platform.
