Haze Demo Coming Soon
A demo of Haze is heading to the PlayStation 3 in the near future.

Ubisoft, the game's publisher, is remaining coy about the exact date, but we're told it will arrive in "early May".

Of the demo Ubi tells us, "this playable demo will give gamers a taste of not only the single-player campaign in Haze, but will also allow up to four-player, drop-in drop-out co-op play online."

If you want an idea of what to expect of the single-player and co-op modes before the demo hits, SPOnG suggests checking out our recent hands on - you can find it here.

Haze is developed by Free Radical, of TimeSplitters fame. It has recently been confirmed for a May 23rd release.

I think this is one game I might put alongside Duke Nukem Forever...So we have gone to delays too many to list, to many different release dates, to a final release date then what was a release date of the game which is now an unconfirmed release date for a demo.

Its times like this when some people just wont give a rats ass about this game...Mess people around enough and they wont want to know.

There is no point in even releasing this game considering some far better titles will be out in June...

Why does it bother you?

Why shouldn't it? Its a a game by a developer if they feel this is how they should treat gamers especially when working on a game that is for a specific platform then its not good enough.

What happened to SplinterCell for the 360 only? Bet you when it comes to the time close to completion they will then mess 360 gamers around with all this messing about.

Developers shouldnt open their mouths about certain games until they know they are close to completion.

Take Gears of war 2 for example that game has been announced to be released THIS year in November 2008 thats the sort of information people want when developers can give a firm release date and stick to it.

What utter, total and complete nonsense.

For a start your own caveat is big enough to drive a road-train through: "certain games". They shouldn't talk about 'certain games'. By 'certain' you mean 'specific' rather than 'games that are certain to exist'. By 'specific' you mean games that you decide that developers should be able to talk about.

Next - devs should be able to talk about their work as much as they like. They rarely are allowed to do so though. If they don't finally deliver then they should suffer in the marketplace.

Next up, if you can't contain your excitement and frustration regarding specific games being talked about in advance of the final development milestone (is that near enough?), or hitting beta 1 (is that near enough) or going to open beta (is that near completion?) or being two days off the end of crunch (close enough to complete?) or having finalised packaging and POS (are we done yet?) or hitting retail for one platform (surely that's not 'complete' if there are other platforms?) - then I would suggest that you seek therapy in order to deal with these frustration issues.

Now, back to the real world.

But is it entirely nonsense? It doesn't say they shouldn't be allowed, it just says they shouldn't.

I think one of the main points is, if you're waiting for something for too long, you eventually lose interest... Although I haven't done with Haze per se, but other games might "delay" my purchasing of it. I'm looking forward to TimeSplitters 4 more still.
