Problems plaguing the newly available
maps for
Call of Duty 4 on Xbox Live have been resolved, says the game's developer, Infinity Ward.
According to a blog post at the weekend by Robert Bowling, the Director of Communications/Community Manager for Infinity Ward:
"Just a heads up that it looks like Marketplace is back on it’s feet and running as normal. You should have no problem buying or redeeming the new Variety Map Pack. If you tried yesterday when it was down and received an Invalid Code error, be sure to retry today with the same code. If you received the Error Message that your code was already used while it was down yesterday, just attempt to re-download it via the 'Download Maps' option in-game or on the marketplace."
This came following gamers struggling to download the new map pack on Friday and through into the weekend. Many gamers received the message, “Can’t retrieve information from XBOX LIVE, please try again later. Status Code: 8015000a” as they tried to get hold of the content. Bowling blamed the problem on the high number of people trying to download the maps.
Bowling also says that the maps aren't too far away for the PS3, either. "Meanwhile, we’ve been preparing for the launch of the new maps on the PS3 as well via PSN. So we should have details on that in the near future (hopefully next week)", he claims.
It will be interesting to see if the PlayStation Network has any similar problems with the maps overloading the network...
PC gamers haven't been forgotten, either. "On the PC side of things the Patch is in queue to finish internal QA for release... In addition to that details are being finalized as to getting the map pack to the PC users as well. I can’t speak specifics just yet as everything is being cemented now, but it sounds like good news", Bowling says.
