Square Enix fans - rejoice with a certain amount of reservation! One source is claiming that it will soon be confirmed that a
long-rumoured remake of
Final Fantasy VII will hit the PS3.
PSXtreme claims that "a reliable source at SCEJ" has told it that Square will embed confirmation of
FF VII for the PS3 in its upcoming next-gen RPG,
The Last Remnant, which is bound for a Spring release in Japan and America.
The site claims that the confirmation will be delivered in a similar way to Eat Sleep Play's revelation of a Twisted Metal project for the PS3. The studio of David Jaffe - the creator of God of War - embedded a code in the end credits of Twisted Metal: Head On for the PS3 which, once cracked, revealed the project.
The same source also apparently confirmed the fact that a 22 minute playable demo for
FF XIII in
The Last Remnant, which comes from some 20 hours into the game.
File it under 'rumour' for now.
