Capcom and Namco have confirmed that the arcade light-gun game Gun Survivor 2: Biohazard Code Veronica is being developed for the 246 arcade system.
The game, called Gun Survivor 2: Resident Evil Code Veronica in the States and Europe is a shooting game for two players, and follows the story of Code Veronica.
Namco’s new 246 system has been specifically engineered to optimise compatibility with Sony’s PlayStation 2 showing a massive swing in Capcom’s favour.
Capcom has always endeavoured to release its arcade games on Sega systems and many thought that Gun Survivor 2 was a dead cert for Sega’s new arcade hardware, the Naomi 2 system.
This move indicates that the next instalment of survival horror from Capcom will definitely be headed for PlayStation 2.
