Wii Fitness Dated For Europe!

Plus: new screens!

Posted by Staff
Following news of Wii Fitness' release date for the US, Nintendo Europe has slapped a date on the European release.

April 25th is when we will see the release of the belly-busting title. In a pleasing turn of events (try to imagine SPOnG not having smug grins all over our faces) that puts the European release three weeks ahead of the US' May 19th launch date.

One thing North American gamers have that we still don't, however, is a date for Nintendo's WiiWare game-creation platform. The WiiWare launch date for America emerged alongside the Wii Fitness release date. SPOnG contacted Nintendo and was told, "we're not confirming any plans for Wii Ware in the UK right now".

SPOnG is not moaning, however; we also got a release date for Mario Kart Wii this morning. With the game currently placed for a release at the end of April in the States, we're beating the Americans to the punch on that, too.

To get you all psyched up for your impending exercise, we've also got a host of new screens from the title. You can find them below and on SPOnG's dedicated game page.

To find out more about just how Wii Fitness will put the fear of God into your beer gut, check out SPOnG's review.

This could actually be fun, my only concern is for how long? Brain training on DS was fun for about a month then got really boring

If it's intended for a US release too, I doubt there'll be many problems with weight issues here in the UK.

It does sort of make you wonder how the small percentage of sumo wrestlers must feel when faced with potential breakages of the Wii Fit board back in its homeland.

Checked in with Nintendo on this and was told that it's still confirming the price. Don't think an announcement will be too far away, though.
