Is NiGHTS Heading To PlayStation 2?
It looks like SEGA's much-loved NiGHTS series is heading to the PS2.

More specifically, it looks like the original, NiGHTS: Into Dreams - first released on the Saturn back in 1996 - is making the journey to Sony's platform more than ten years after it first appeared.

The news comes via a scan of Japanese gaming bible Famitsu (pictured above). Given that SPOnG doesn't speak Japanese we can't be 100% certain the game is coming, but the images are certainly from NiGHTS and the phrase "into dreams..." and "PS2" clearly appear on the top of the page, so it looks like a good bet.

It must be said, however, that if the news turns out to be true SEGA has an odd way of picking its moment. Given that Journey of Dreams for the Wii is just around the corner, a port of that might have made more sense.

I have a PS2. I don't have a Wii.
I would buy a Wii just for NiGHTS:Journey of Dreams.
If it comes to the PS2 as well, that would be soooo cool.
[save me from buying a Wii]

As for the original NiGHTS....I still have it on Saturn, so will be less inclined to buy the original - however I have always wanted more people to experience the Magic of NiGHTS - so this is fantastic news!

My only worry is, that whilst I really enjoyed NiGHTS:Into Dreams, a month or so on, I had all A grades, and had unlocked the final ending, with only A-life mutations and Link Combos left for me to master. It was actually Christmas NiGHTS that kept me going for years and years and years. Christmas NiGHTS I feel is so bloody amazing - I really hope if they bring NiGHTS:Into Dreams to PS2, that Christmas NiGHTS is included in the package. =D. Some of my happiest memories of NiGHTS start with the Christmas version belting out: Joy to the world!!!
I used to use Christmas NiGHTS as my advent calender also - unlocking one new present each day of advent! =) Plus it had LINK ATTACK MODE - that mode that became famous in all the magazine's high score sections....and was stupidly addictive.
