Japanese statistics compiler, Media Create has released it video games sales figures for October 29 to November 4, and - would you believe it - Super Mario Galaxy has zoomed its way to the Number 1 spot?!
No, really it has. You can find out why by reading SPOnG's review right
over here.
In the meantime, let's look at why the rest of the competition even bothered getting out of its video-gaming bed to do battle with the portly plumber. The top 10 games in Japan last week were... (total sales are in brackets where applicable):
1:
Super Mario Galaxy - (Wii) - 251,000 (New Entry)

So, out of that Top 10 we have eight Nintendo titles, leaving Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 to share the remaining... do the maths... right, two (2) places.
Also notable from that is that
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation on Xbox 360 debuts at Number 2 while Sony's venerable PS2 and its
Super Robot Wars Scramble Commander The 2nd comes in at 4. So, good news for Microsoft - and maybe Sony fans in Japan are playing all their PS2 games on their backwardly compatible PS3s?
