DS Sells 4 Million In UK This Year
Nintendo has sold 4 million DS handheld consoles in the UK so far this year.

Those aren't the only good tidings for Nintendo as far as statistics go, either. The platform holder has also shifted an impressive 1 million copies of Dr Kawashima's Brain Training.

The figures come from Chart Track, which monitors games industry sales in the UK.

Naturally, the occasion hasn't passed without someone at Nintendo having something to say on the matter. Nintendo UK's General manager, David Yarnton, commented, “With its wide appeal and unique software, the Nintendo DS has significantly expanded the gaming audience and driven growth across the whole market. Alongside the unprecendented performance of Wii, and with demand still as strong as ever for the Nintendo DS, it shows that these revolutionary consoles continue to appeal to everyone”.

Yarnton also told us today that Nintendo hasn't forgotten the hardcore. With figures like these, it might not matter either way, so long as 'Tendy' can keep capitalising on them with further software sales.

The figures come with Christmas bearing down upon us, so don't be surprised to see Nintendo crowing about more figures in the not too distant future.
