Rock Band: Full Set List Inside

Coheed or Cambria - which is your favourite?

It's in. Harmonix, MTV Games and Electronic Arts have unleashed the full, epic song list for their upcoming Guitar Hero challenger, Rock Band.

Epic, it would seem, is the right word to use. A whopping 58 tracks are available to choose from as you pick your instrument and do the jammy thing.

“Our goal with Rock Band was to give players the chance to experience an amazing cross section of music from the last four decades, and our final list of tracks includes everything from emerging bands to iconic artists,“ stated Paul DeGooyer, MTV’s senior VP of Home Entertainment, Music and Games in his corporo-quote du jour. “The overwhelmingly positive response from artists, music publishers and record labels made the final selection process challenging, but extremely exciting. As a result, 51 out of 58 of the final selections are based on original masters, giving fans an unprecedented way to get closer to the music they love.”

Today's list won't be the be-all and end-all of what Rock Band has to offer, however. Here's what, Harmonix's audio lead, Eric Brosius, had to say: “Now that the disc track list is locked and Rock Band is being prepped for manufacture, we are working with our music partners to set an exciting download schedule, both for launch and beyond. Through DLC, players will have the ability to take a deeper dive into the music of the artists featured on the Rock Band disc, or further explore different genres of rock or additional bands if they choose.”

Alas, we won't be able to witness the glory of Rock Band until next year now, with the game's distributor, EA, putting the game in the first quarter of 2008. While you wait, you can get the skinny on Rock Band on SPOnG's dedicated game page.

And while the likes of Deep Purple, Mountain and Molly Hatchet won't mean much if anything to today's kids, here's hoping that the exposure will prompt some to look through rock's back pages. Anyway, without further ado here's the information you're looking for:

I don't think the normal GH contrtollers will work cause if you look at the picture of the guitar in the artwork for Rock Band here on spong there are 5 more fret buttons further down the neck of the guitar making 10 fret buttons!!! Amazing.

It means more money but i'd be will to spend cause i've been waiting for this to come out since the first Guitar Hero came out.
